Youth Work is all about using conversation and activities to informally educate young people. It supports their social and emotional development. Youth workers build positive relationships with young people that are based on trust and mutual respect. They empower and support young people to understand their values and help them establish what they want to achieve in life. Youth workers utilise activities such as sports, dance, the arts as well as the art of conversation to raise young people’s self esteem and empower them to create positive change for themselves and their communities. It is vital that young people have access to safe spaces where they can make friends, learn who they are, and where they fit within society.
Professionals and organisations that work with young people also need support and guidance from time to time and that’s where I can help.

Hello, nice to meet you! I’m Lee, a fully Qualified Youth and Community Worker (JNC) with over 25 years experience working in the youth sector with both young people and the utterly fabulous adults who choose to work with young people for their career. As both a senior manager and former senior practitioner, I have a great deal of experience designing and delivering high quality youth work programmes, capturing and championing youth voice, training and supervising youth workers at all levels and creating new operational models for youth organisations that improve the quality of their provision and overall impact.
